Position: Summer@MBC Music Director

Job Description:

  • The Music Director will join the MBC Team for the Summer@MBC Family Conference program season (months of July & August). The primary responsibility will be to design and implement/lead the music worship experience for the Adult Chapel on Sunday mornings (2 services) and Monday through Friday evening. Mentoring and incorporating student team members as well as guests who are appropriately gifted will be part of the opportunity.
  • The Music Director will also organize the Wednesday evening ‘Praise & Prayer’ sessions together with our Student Body Community Life Leaders (target audience are the 100 youth who work at MBC).
  • The key additional responsibility will be to plan and lead a ‘music skill’ for guest youth on Monday through Friday mornings (2 sessions each morning). The youth enroll in the skill for the duration of the week. Incorporating these skills students into the evening worship experiences will be an additional opportunity.

Job Specifications:

Education

  • Music degree (vocal, instrumental)
  • Bible College/Seminary Training

Experience

  • Possess a significant understanding of worship, music, scripture & liturgy in order to assist in developing and directing a meaningful flow within each Chapel session.
  • Experience in music/instrument instruction
  • Leadership in the areas of expertise

Other Requirements:

  • Strong people skills and ability to work in high stress conditions
  • Start Date June 29 2019 (some pre work) Finish Date Labour Day Weekend 2019

Salary

  • Onsite housing and meals available as part of package (family or individual)
  • Salary over and above housing and meals – to be determined based on requirement/preference of housing and meals benefits.

Working Conditions (hours, environment, etc.)

  • Working in a Christian service ministry requires a high standard of personal integrity and lifestyle.
  • Each staff member working at MBC will be expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct as described in the Staff Manual. All staff members are expected to share in the vision and ministry of MBC regardless of their role.
  • Weekend work will be required, mostly during the summer months of July and August.
